2020 Holiday Gift Guide: Investment Items to Splurge On

2020 gift guide of investment items

The majority of gifts included in this guide are $100-$150. Enough to be a splurge, but not so crazy there’s no way you’d buy one for yourself or anyone else.

I didn’t include them in the list below because I have talked about them endlessly, but if you don’t have the Madewell Transport Zip Top tote or an Everlane cashmere sweater, definitely add them to your wish list.

You can shop most of these items + a few other ideas in the widget below. Items I personally own and love are marked with an asterisk. You can find all gift guides here.

2020 holiday gift guide – Investment Items to Splurge On

ONE // Perpetual Calendar*: I’ve been keeping a one a day journal for 7 years. I love looking back at previous years and both the special and mundane moments. My first version was one that Jim’s sister made me. I was starting to run out of room so I bought this perpetual calendar to continue recording my days.

TWO // Mason Pearson Brush*: For the woman that has everything, is there anything more indulgent than a hairbrush?! After considering it for years, I used some birthday money and bought the Junior Mixture hairbrush. Has my life changed? No, but my hair does look better when I use it!

THREE // Lake Pajamas*: The softest, coziest pajamas I own. My favorite styles are the short/long and short/short. These would be a great gift for yourself, a sister or best girlfriend.

FOUR // TopTote Hat Clip: I think this is such a genius idea. I never know where to store my hat when I travel. This easily clips to your tote or suitcase for ease when traveling.

FIVE // Estelle Wine Glasses: These wine glasses were all over Instagram a few months ago. I haven’t been able to get them out of my mind. The hardest decision is which color to choose. There’s also a gorgeous emerald green decanter. Swoon.

SIX //  Vuori Joggers*: After trying these joggers for the first time this summer, I’ve since gifted them twice. They are the perfect everyday joggers. I promise you will love them.

SEVEN // Cuyana Laptop Sleeve: When I got a new laptop earlier this year, my previous laptop sleeve no longer fit. The Cuyana laptop sleeve is on my personal wish list.

EIGHT // Dudley Stephens Fleece*: During a recent sale, I invested in another Dudley Stephens fleece in blush. I reach for it every week, sometimes multiple times. I prefer the Park Slope in Terry fleece, which runs TTS. For the Park Slope in Vello fleece, I recommend going up a size.

NINE // ChappyWrap Blanket*: This is the #1 gift I’m recommending this year. It’s great for everyone on your list from friends to your mother-in-law. I’ve used mine every night since I got it in August.

TEN // J. Crew Teddy Coat*: I bought this coat on somewhat of an impulse last winter. Turns out I wore it almost every day. It is warm, but feels dressier than my puffer jackets. I love the navy blue liner too.

ELEVEN // Lingua Franca Sweater: Each phrase on the Lingua Franca sweaters is better than the rest. Right now, I’m partial to “When There are Nine” on the RBG sweater, but I love the “Fight Like a Mother” and “Vote” options too. There are too many to choose from!

TWELVE // Susan Gordon Cake Stand: I came across Susan Gordon Pottery on Instagram this fall. I immediately fell in love with every piece. The cake stands are particularly gorgeous.

I truly enjoy putting these gift guides to share with you all. I earn a small commission on purchases you make through my blog links. The price is the same for you either way. It works whether you buy what I linked to or other things. It makes my heart swell every single time I see a purchase has been made (no, I can’t tell who purchased, only that a purchase was made from a link). Thank you for your support!
