The beach is my happy place. Living in LA for the year, it’s been our #1 weekend destination.
I’d like to think we have our routine down to a science. Going with two toddlers isn’t easy, but I’m happy to say it’s been relatively stress free and even relaxing. These are our beach essentials for toddlers.
Tent – Jim gave me a Neso Tents beach tent for Christmas and it’s been a game changer. It’s super easy to set up and offers the perfect amount of shade. We always get asked about it when we’re on the beach. We love it so much we’re going to take it to the east coast this summer for our beach week.
Food / Drinks – We either make sandwiches or bring cheese, crackers and salami, fruit, water, kombucha (me), and occasionally a juice pouch for the kids.
Toys – We don’t go crazy with the beach toys, usually sticking to the basics of a bucket, shovel and a sand shifter. On a good day, we throw in a ball too. If I were going to upgrade, I would go with this beach toy set.
Beach blanket and towel – We’ve had our striped beach blanket (similar here) for years. It’s light, colorful and big enough for all of us.
Clothing – I always bring a change of clothes for the kids in addition to their swimsuits and hats. I love SwimZip for the kids (Sybil has this one, Lawson’s is several years old but similar to this one). The zippered tops are easy to get on and off. They run a little big in my opinion so keep that in mind.
Sunscreen – Our favorite is the Beautycounter sunscreen. It works and is free of dangerous chemicals.
