Fall Family Photo Color Scheme

Fall Family Photo Color Scheme

We continued our annual tradition of taking professional family photos last week. Although we haven’t gotten the photos back yet, I’m pretty proud of our color scheme and mixing of patterns and textures.

When putting together our outfits, I generally start with either myself or one of the kids. This year our outfits centered around the Gal Meets Glam Collection Georgette dress that I bought on super sale this summer. It’s sold out, but there are a few available on Poshmark.

I searched Pinterest for color schemes that went with emerald green and compared them to the clothing options we already had. I quickly settled on a green/blush/ivory/blue scheme because I liked the colors and we had most of the items. I did purchase the skirt for Sybil and sweater for Lawson, but otherwise the rest came from our own closets.

This is definitely the most patterns and color we’ve worn in family photos. While we have yet to get the photos back, fingers crossed it will work on camera. I really liked that Lawson’s shirt had pink florals to tie in with Sybil’s sweater. Even though Jim’s shirt was a different shade of blue, it also had pink flowers that went with Lawson’s shirt. Can you tell I’m proud of myself??!

My best advice is to pick items that everyone is comfortable in. Make sure you can move and play. Don’t stress too much. Bribery is okay. And have fun!
