My favorite night of the month is girl’s night. I’m guaranteed good food and great conversation. The host puts together the menu and everyone else shows up with a bottle of wine. It was my turn to host in August and I was more than ready to see my girlfriends (see the last night I hosted here)!
The Theme
Since I was hosting the last week of August, I decided on an end of summer theme. I wanted to celebrate our various summer vacations and create a bright and cheery atmosphere. To help set the stage, I relied on Tiny Prints invitations that I modified into menus. The pink, blue and greens in their summer party invitation were perfect and it couldn’t have been easier to add my menu! I carried the bright pink color scheme throughout the flowers, straws and cocktail napkins to bring it all together.
The Menu
Appetizers: Baked brown sugar chicken wings with roasted red pepper cream sauce, Caprese-style stuffed tomatoes with balsamic reduction, cheese platter
Main: Herbed quinoa garden veggie salad (I added shredded chicken)
Dessert: Grilled peaches with vanilla ice cream
I switched up my usual light appetizers for a few more substantial options this time and balanced it out with a salad for our main course. This was my first attempt at baking chicken wings. They were surprisingly easy, although a bit messy to eat. I rounded out the appetizers with my tried and true cheese plate. It’s so easy to put together quickly while everything else is in the oven!
The Favors
While party favors aren’t a requirement of girl’s night, I love putting together something special for my friends. Watching their faces when they see their gifts is usually my favorite part of the night. As someone who loves handwritten thank you notes, these personalized notecards from Tiny Prints were a perfect gift. Available in three different colors, I was able to pick the color that reminded me most of each of my girlfriends. Sticking with the personalized gifts, each of my girlfriends received a monogram pillow from Tiny Prints’ new home decor collection! I selected the Lively Monogram and Tribal Spirit. With multiple color options, you can get one to go with every room in your house. The covers can be removed for easy washing, which is important with pets, kids and everyday life!
I was excited to see how well each of the pillows fit with their decor. It was slightly stressful trying to remember the color scheme in each of my girlfriends’ homes. I have to say I’m pretty pleased with my selections!
The invitations, notecards and pillows in this post were provided by Tiny Prints; however, all ideas and opinions are my own. A huge thank you to Tiny Prints for making our night memorable!
