How is your week going? Sybil and I are battling colds, but I think we’re heading in the right direction. The weather in Minnesota was beautiful yesterday. I’ve definitely got summer on the brain.

Even though I’m not feeling my best, I went for a 3 mile run with my dad and Lawson yesterday. I’ve always enjoyed running with my dad, but even more so since he pushes the jogging stroller the entire time. I showed Lawson some caterpillars and we talked about one of our favorite books, The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

The unofficial start of summer is less than 10 days away. Here’s a little Memorial Day style inspiration for you to kick off the summer holidays with some red, white and blue.

I’ve read a few beach reads lately, but my favorite by far is Slightly South of Simple. Do yourself a favor and grab the sequel, The Secret to Southern Charm, too.

My style is leans heavily toward casual, which is why you’ll find me in a striped tee or top, denim shorts or white jeans and my go to birkenstock sandals. These cute scalloped shorts have me considering something slightly fancier! They would look great with a tee and this star scarf/headband. While I’m partial to my birkenstocks (they are just too comfortable), I think these white and tan sandals are perfect for summer.

How cute is this seersucker one-piece swimsuit?! It also comes in a pretty light blue. A favorite new to me brand is Summersalt. Swimsuits can be ridiculously expensive for so little fabric. Every Summersalt suit no matter which style is $95. I have the one-piece version, but also love the high rise bikini bottom with the sidestroke top.

I’ve raved about Summer Fridays face mask before (and even dedicated an entire post to it). It’s safe to say I’m obsessed. The hydrating mask will give your skin life after a long weekend spent outdoors.

Do you have any fun Memorial Day plans? We’re heading back to California on Monday so we’ll be spending it on the west coast soaking up the sunshine!
