Weekend Roundup

Black Sweater, Distressed Jeans, M. Gemi Heels

Happy inauguration day? A small part of me is still in shock that this is actually happening. Are any of you planning on attending a women’s march tomorrow? I’m considering it, but not sure how manageable it would be with Lawson and Sybil.

Our week is on the upswing. We’re feeling better after these winter colds for the past week. Lawson had his first real haircut yesterday. He was a champ and looks like such a handsome little fella. Of course I had to treat him with an In-N-Out afterwards. Kid loves a chocolate shake!

It’s supposed to be cool and rainy this weekend. I never mind the rain when I can wear my Hunter rainboots! We have a few things to do inside like hanging frames and putting up the growth chart we got for Christmas. I hope you have some fun plans of your own this weekend!

After cleaning out my closet recently I have a much better idea about my style and the colors I like to wear. While I favor neutrals, I like a pop of pink. Hot pink to be specific. I plan to wear this wool cardigan in neon fuchsia over a neutral graphic tee.

I read two different posts that I loved this week. Marriage is a Team Sport is a good relationship refresher no matter if you’re married or not. Sometimes Babies Don’t Sleep almost made me weep. It reminded me these past few months with Sybil are just a season (or two). The sleepless nights will pass. Soon I’ll be in a mild panic that she’s growing up too fast (similar to my thoughts on Lawson approaching his 2nd birthday).

When we were running a lot, I used to make these energy bites all the time. They are really easy to make. I had all of the ingredients and decided to whip up a batch. I was reminded how good they are. Even Lawson loves them! One or two satisfies my sweet tooth.

I made this salad for dinner last night. Other than the chicken taking me 3x as long to cook as the recipe said, it was tasty. You can never go wrong with bacon and avocado, right?
