Weekend Roundup: No. 183

Weekend

Well that was an unexpected break from blog posts. I’ve been busy being a mom to two toddlers and stocking up on my bedside reading list. After I shared this photo on Instagram, I got so many great recommendations that I went a little crazy at the bookstore earlier this week. Oops!

A quick catch up on life the past two weeks. Jim is in Dubai for a class trip. Back in the states, my brother visited us last week and my mom is here this week. I have so much respect for single parents. The thought of 10 days was too much for me and I had to call in reinforcements. :)

We’ve done a mix of our usual outings – to the beach (in the rain!), bookstore, kids club, park. Lawson and Sybil are splashing in all the mud puddles they can find.

I’m on the hunt for a pair of jeans and denim shorts. I am finally coming to terms with the fact most of my jeans don’t work for current body type. They are either slightly too big and stretch out or too small and low cut that I’m constantly pulling them up. I’ve ordered and returned at least 6 pairs. And my favorite denim shorts that I’ve had for 10 years and patched are finally on their last threads. I hope to have some good finds to share soon!

Before Jim left for Dubai he shared a cold with all of us. Luckily it was pretty mild, but Sybil did have a fever for a couple of days. After the sickness we all got late last year, I thought we’d be exempt from the rest of cold and flu season.

We finished Whole30 without much fanfare and promptly had gluten-free pancakes for breakfast the following morning. They tasted sooo good!

I hope to make a dent in my weekend reading list the next couple of days and enjoy the time with my mom before she heads home next week.

Whatever you’re up to this weekend, I hope it’s a good one!
