Weekend Roundup: No. 210

Christmas Tree

How was your week? A nasty cold is making its way around our house. Lawson and Sybil had fevers of 103-105. They’ve now progressed to a terrible cough and congestion. Jim and I have scratchy throats now too.

We didn’t make it out of the house much this week. Other than a few training runs, we spent a lot of time reading books and watching TV. #momguilt

This weekend I’m meeting up with Ana to shoot some outfits to share with you all soon, including this plaid skirt. I ordered it on a whim during a recent Madewell sale and love it. When I tried it on, Sybil said I looked like a princess! I’m pretty sure it’s because I never wear a dress or skirt, but whatever, I’ll take it.

It looks great with a simple black sweater and OTK boots. Or you could pair it with tights and heels. Can you tell I’m excited to share it with you??! There are limited sizes left, but this one is similar (also available here).

Tomorrow night we’re going to a holiday party hosted by a former coworker from Arizona. On Sunday Lawson and I are going to see The Nutcracker. I haven’t been in years and am really looking forward to our date.

HIGH POINT:

We got our Christmas tree! It’s my first real tree in 42 years. I love it.

LOW POINT:

The load of bad germs in our house. If the last couple of months are any indication, we’re in for a long winter.

FIND OF THE WEEK:

I had wanted to try this cleansing balm for months. When they came out with a travel size for the holidays, I grabbed it. I used it for the first time on Wednesday and can understand why everyone raves about it. I was worried it wouldn’t be as moisturizing as my normal oil cleanser, but it is!
