Weekend Roundup: No. 226

Weekend Reading

It hasn’t exactly felt like it, but cheers to a short week! How was your holiday weekend? I ran twice, including my longest run since last fall (7.1 miles). We bought and assembled patio furniture from Ikea and proceeded to eat dinner outside the next two nights.

Our week is especially short because today we’re off on our first camping trip of the year. We’re going back to the same campground we stayed at last fall. It is supposed to be COLD at night. I wasn’t prepared for the nighttime temperatures last year, but I’m ready for it tonight.

Lawson and Sybil didn’t have any activities this week. That combined with rain and a crazy hail storm made for a bit of a boring week. Being lazier in the morning was nice though. I can understand why parents enjoy the more relaxed pace of summer. Until the kiddos are crazy without school and routine and everyone goes nuts. Ha!

I took the kiddos to childcare at the rec center again this week. Sybil didn’t even cry when I dropped them off. Major progress.

We finished season 2 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel this week. I’m suffering withdrawals. It’s in the list of top 5 shows I’ve watched.

HIGH POINT:

Yesterday during Sybil’s nap time, Lawson and I played our first game of Go Fish. He was so cute. He’s inherited his parents dislike of losing. So I tipped the game in his favor. he’s only four!

LOW POINT:

I’ve mentioned it before, but I go through periods where I feel very unproductive. I want to be more intentional with my time.

FIND OF THE WEEK:

I needed to replace my socks and ordered this 3 pack from Bombas. For every pair of socks purchased, they donate a pair!

WHAT I’M READING:

I finished We Were the Lucky Ones in two days. If you like WWII historical fiction, you’ll love it. It’s one of the best books I’ve read. Next up is The Matchmaker’s List.
