What I Bought in April

What I bought in April 2023

This month definitely brought more purchases as I rounded out Lawson and Sybil’s spring and summer clothing options. It seems at least one of them has grown enough to need new shorts, shirts, pajamas, etc every season. As I was writing this post, I realized Sybil got way more than Lawson did this month. Ha!

Earlier this month was Lawson’s birthday. While I purchased his gifts in March, I didn’t include them in last month’s update (he can read now and I didn’t want him to inadvertently find out beforehand!). We gave him: a Yoto mini player, Rubik’s Cube, books and a bike.

Margaux wrap sandals: These had been on my 2023 wish list. I tried them on with a bunch of different outfits to make sure they truly filled a wardrobe gap for me and I think they do! I especially love them with above the knee dresses. Bonus that they are super comfortable! Now if the weather would warm up enough to wear them…

Vintage cotton tee shirts: After reading Jen from Magpie rave about these tee shirts, I picked up the navy and white versions in store at the beginning of the month. I’ve already worn them a ton – they look great layered with a few necklaces, denim and sandals.

I placed a couple of big orders from J. Crew, Hanna Andersson, and Boden to replenish spring and summer items for the kids: girls linen pants (fully lined and on sale for $16), tee shirts for both kids, pointelle shirts for Sybil, short pajama sets, a graphic tee, harem jersey pants, cardigan sweater and cotton shorts.

Haldi: I restocked my day and evening moisturizers, an AM cleanser, and a new to me serum. I cannot recommend Haldi enough – they customize skincare recommendations to your needs. Try them out!

Vuori joggers: I bought another pair of my favorite joggers and hid them under Lawson’s bed to give me for Mother’s Day. These are so good – if you haven’t tried them yet, I promise you’ll fall in love!

Workout tank: I have this shirt in a tee shirt style and picked up a tank for summer workouts.

Bow One-Shoulder One-Piece swimsuit: My friend said she ordered a J. Crew suit in the radiant fuchsia colorway and I quickly fell in love. I tried a couple of different styles and settled on this fun bow shoulder option that’s currently less than $50!

Vuori polo: While ordering a few things for myself, I added this polo for Jim to cart.

I have quite a few items on my May wish list – this shirt that I put on my Mother’s Day list, a new dress (blue or green stripes are frontrunners), and the upcoming summer Hill House release. I also can’t get this necklace out of my mind.
