When my Mom visited a couple of weekends ago, I knew we’d partake in our normal activities of shopping, eating and manicures/pedicures, but I also wanted to find something new for us to do while she was here. I had never been to the Queen Creek Olive Mill and thought we’d both enjoy it. Little did I know it would have the cutest restaurant and that we’d learn so much about olive oil! For $5, you can take the Olive Oil 101 class and hear about the production of their extra virgin olive oil, sample various varieties of olive oil, balsamic vinegar and olives (be sure to check out the strawberry balsamic vinegar and chocolate olive oil) and even taste an olive straight from the tree. I had no idea olives were actually very bitter! We loved the visit and left with some goodies to take home and early ideas for holiday gifts. The olive harvest starts in mid-October; I may need to make a return trip!
I had a great time, thanks for taking me!
I always struggle with unique and fun things to do with people who come to visit; what an awesome idea! Thanks for sharing.
They also have a location at Union at the Biltmore. You don’t get to experience the olive mill and tour, but you can still pick up some fun treats!
