I’ve always loved reading. I can remember building my Babysitter’s Club and Sweet Valley High collections when I was younger. I spent many summer vacation days reading on road trips and by the campfire (or in the tent when I was supposed to be sleeping). This summer I’m making time to read more; I’m halfway through my 5th book and have another six ready to go! There isn’t a book I’ve read that I wouldn’t recommend.
Shotgun Lovesongs – loved this one, partly for the familiar midwestern places mentioned
The Vacationers: A Novel – funny and dysfunctional family drama on a spanish island
The Divorce Papers: A Novel – uniquely told from the perspective of the reluctant divorce attorney
The One & Only – a quick read, good for a day at the beach
#GIRLBOSS – inspiring story from the founder of Nasty Gal (in fairness, I’m not quite finished with this one yet)
And next up on my list:
The Hundred-Foot Journey / The Happiness Project / The Happiness Advantage
Daring Greatly / Blog, Inc. / And the Mountains Echoed
What’s on your summer reading list? I’m always looking for recommendations!
Oh the Babysitter’s Club, that brings me back to my preteen days! I’ve been looking for some books on tape (nerd alert) for the long drive to Texas. I guess these days they’re probably not called that– probably more along the lines of audio books on an app! ;) I’ll have to check some of these out!
I’m so glad someone else shares my love of the Babysitter’s Club! You’re right, I think they’re called audio books now. :) I hope you find something you’ll like to make the time pass on that long drive!
