Lawson is going to be a big brother! We’re excited to be a family of four and welcome a little girl in late August.
I know what you’re thinking…weren’t you just pregnant? I’ll be honest, I’ve had the same thought on occasion. It’s completely crazy to think that last year at this time Lawson was still growing in my belly and now I’ve got another one in there again. Hey, they’ll be the best of friends, right?! (More photos and a little Q&A below)
Q: How far apart will they be?
A: 17 months
Q: Will they be Irish twins?
A: No, Irish twins are defined as two siblings 12 months apart or within a calendar year
Q: Are you crazy?
A: No, just really bad at birth control
Q: Did you use your frozen eggs?
A: Nope, it looks like those will stay frozen
Q: How far along are you?
A: 17 weeks
Q: When is your due date?
A: September 1st, but I’ll likely have a scheduled c-section earlier that week
Q: How are you feeling?
A: Really good now. I was exhausted and extremely nauseous in the first trimester, much more than when I was pregnant with Lawson. Now I feel more like my normal self and sometimes even forget I’m pregnant. The past week I’ve begun to get a little more uncomfortable
Q: How’s Ronnie the (fib)roid?
A: Ronnie is still right there alongside baby girl. I have an ultrasound next week and then will really be able to compare the size to my last pregnancy. I had hoped the fibroid would be smaller this time, but based on my belly size I’m not so sure that’s the case
Q: Most importantly, are you excited?
A: Yes! I’ll be honest, it’s been a mental and emotional adjustment to envision going through pregnancy again so quickly. But Lawson brings us such joy every day. Imagining another little one running around here is pretty exciting. The other night we were sitting on the floor with Lawson playing and crawling all around us. Jim looked at me and said “won’t it be so much fun when our little girl is almost 1 and they are playing together?” And I truly can’t imagine anything better
