Weekend Roundup: No. 207

The Minimalist Kitchen

Last Sunday I ran the Broomfield Trails 10K. It was my first race in almost 5 years. I wasn’t fast, but I did have fun! It just felt good to regain a part of my life that’s been on hold the past few years with two little ones.

My parents arrive for a long weekend visit today. Jim and I are especially excited for their visit because we’re leaving the kiddos with them for two nights and heading to Vail!

I’m hoping to cross a couples massage off my 101 in 1001 list while we’re in Vail. And sleeping in. And enjoying a meal without bribing a child. To say I’m excited is an understatement!

My very favorite shoe brand, M Gemi, is having a promo where you can get $50 off every pair of shoes. The Felize (seen here and here) and Pastoso (seen here and here) are my go to loafers. The Stellato are a little dressier and on my wish list.

I’ve slacked a bit on meal planning, but The Minimalist Kitchen has me excited to try a few new recipes. It’s currently on loan from the library and at the top of my holiday wish list.

Gift guides will kick off around here on November 19th. In the meantime, I’ve started a special holiday shop page. You can find holiday picks for parties, hostess gifts and more! I’ll be updating it throughout the next month so check back for more. There is also a section with all gift guides that will be updated with this year’s guides as they are posted.

In the spirit of transparency, I earn a small commission if you make a purchase using one of my links. There’s no cost to you. If you do see something you like on the blog, I’d be so grateful if you purchase using the link I include. Thank you!

HIGH POINT:

The 10K I ran on Sunday was definitely a high point of the week. I also had some cute moments with Lawson and Sybil that were pretty high up there. Sybil is getting more and more talkative each day. It’s especially fun when I have one on one time with her.

LOW POINT:

The pilot light went out on our hot water heater. It took us 24 hours to figure it out, so we were without hot water for a day. I kept thinking I was grateful we had water, even if it was cold!

FIND OF THE WEEK:

I made this 30 minute Thai peanut chicken ramen last week. It was a hit with all of us and super easy to make.
