Weekend Roundup: No. 308

Weekend

TGIF! I’m on week 3 of waking up at 5:30am each morning. This week I added meditation to my early morning routine (I use Headspace). I may be in bed around 9pm each night, but I absolutely love the early mornings to myself. It helps set the tone for my entire day.

On the subject of mornings and routine, I wash my hair twice a week usually on Monday and Thursday. Our Monday mornings were so hectic that I started showering on Sunday night after the kids go to bed. I take a leisurely shower, wash and dry my hair, and occasionally paint my nails. Then on Monday morning I do a quick, 5 minute curl, my 3-step makeup routine, and I’m ready for the day. It’s been really helpful so I thought I’d share in case it helps any of you!

After a long weekend, both kiddos were back in school the rest of the week. Sybil and I had fun going to the park (she’s obsessed with swinging on the monkey bars right now), coloring, and playing with magna-tiles. We were both ready for her to go back to school though. Their time at school makes me a better parent.

I am exploring part-time job opportunities and had an interview this week. I mentioned it on Instagram, but it’s both exciting and nerve wracking! Getting into interview mode and going back into my memory bank for specific examples of work I’ve done can be a challenge after 7 years away.

A couple of friends in Minneapolis founded Brillect, an accounting, finance, and project management talent agency, earlier this year. It’s fun watching them grow and getting introduced to their clients. If you have experience in any of those areas and are looking for part-time consulting work, definitely connect with them. They truly are fantastic – they’ve been very respectful of my desire to balance work and family life!

Lawson and Sybil have picked out their Halloween costumers (superheroes for both using capes we already own), but I’m bookmarking the Primary DIY site for next year. It’s brilliant! The Ted Lasso costumes might be my fav and I’m pretty sure Sybil’s going to lobby for the unicorn next year.

Speaking of holidays, the Hanna Andersson holiday pajamas we have are 40% off! We have the tannenbaum and gnome sweet gnome sets.

Whatever you’re up to this weekend, have a good one! And get outside, it’s such a game changer!!
