Next up on the 2018 gift guides is my personal favorite, what I consider the best gifts of 2018…my very own wish list! I’ll admit I *may* have purchased two of these items for myself already. Oops! My wish list is all over the place. From splurges like a cashmere wrap to everyday items like a steamer. What can I say, I’m definitely not one of those people that don’t have a list of wants!
If there are two items you take away from my wish list, please let them be the Maya Brenner initial necklace and Dudley Stephens fleece turtleneck. The necklace is my most treasured piece of jewelry and is the perfect gift for any woman in your life.
I promise the fleece turtleneck will become your go to shirt this winter. You’ll immediately feel cozy and warm. It’s by a new to me brand started by two sisters. Each fleece is made from recycled yarn too!
MY WISH LIST
CASHMERE TRAVEL WRAP ($298) // CONCERT TICKETS // FACE MASK ($44) // FLEECE TURTLENECK ($158) // INITIAL NECKLACE ($260+) // DAILY JOURNAL ($11) // HEADBAND ($28) // MEDITATION SUBSCRIPTION ($99) // SWEATER ($99) // CROSSBODY TOTE ($148) // COOKBOOK ($30) // SWEATPANTS ($55) // BASE LAYER BOTTOMS ($95) // STEAMER ($30) // FLAT IRON ($130) // STRIPED SHIRT ($75)
Cashmere Travel Wrap: This wrap has been on my wish list for a few years. There’s nothing better than a big scarf to keep you cozy and comfortable on a flight. It’s a total splurge, which is always the best kind of gift, right?
Mumford & Sons concert tickets: The #1 item on my list. I’m listening to their new album as I write this post. Mumford & Sons is one of my favorite bands and I’d love to see them on their next concert tour, especially if it’s at Red Rocks. They already announced the first part of their tour, but it didn’t include anywhere close to Denver.
Summer Fridays Overtime face mask: I’m a big fan of their original jet lag mask (you’ll see it on another gift guide later this week!) and wanted to try this one as soon as it came out last month.
Fleece Turtleneck: Confession time. I ordered this fleece turtleneck on a cold day in Colorado after Monica raved about it. It definitely lives up to the hype. It’s perfect for everyday mom life, walking the dog on a cool morning or running errands on the weekend. Friends, forward this to Santa! A quick note on sizing – I think it runs TTS, but the arms are a little tight so if you want a looser fit, size up.
Initial Necklace: My initial necklace is hands down my favorite piece of jewelry. I haven’t taken it off in almost two years. Guys, I guarantee any woman in your life would love this gift! Choose whatever initials mean the most to you – first name, last name, children’s initials. But order now. It takes 3 weeks to arrive and last year it sold out before Christmas. Consider yourself warned!
One Question a Day book: I have a one a day journal that I absolutely love. This is a similar concept except you and your significant other answer the same question for 3 years. It would be so interesting to see how the answers change over time!
Headband: I have a hat I wear running in the winter, but I’d like to add a headband to my options. Sometimes I look a little too much like a burglar with my hat on!
Headspace subscription: In January I set a goal to meditate for 10 minutes a day for 30 days. I tried a few different apps and Headspace was by far my favorite. I’d love a subscription to really get into a consistent routine in 2019.
LL Bean Fisherman sweater: This sweater would be a comfortable addition to my winter wardrobe. I’d wear it with a button up shirt underneath. It also comes in a cream color.
Madewell tote: A few of my girlfriends own this tote and love it. Now that I no longer have to carry a billion diapers and wipes with me everywhere, I’m looking to downsize just a bit.
The Minimalist Kitchen cookbook: I checked this cookbook out from the library and have been raving about it ever since. The recipes are easy enough for me. I also really like the additional information about which kitchen gadgets are actually necessary!
Everlane Sweatpants: When we went skiing, I wore 3 layers. One of the layers was a pair of Jim’s sweatpants. I think it’s time I add my own. This Athleta pair is also in the running.
Smartwool base layer: One of the other layers I wore skiing were these Smartwool base layer bottoms. Some wool bottoms can be itchy, but these are thicker and didn’t bother me at all. On a slightly warmer day, I could wear them underneath my snow pants and skip the sweatpants.
Travel steamer: We’ve lived without an iron in our house for years, but I think it’s time to add an option. Lately there have been a few instances when it would have been nice to get the wrinkles out of our clothes.
CHI flat iron: Now that my hair is shorter, the curling iron isn’t cutting it. I want a messier curl and a flat iron is the tool I need. Then I need my stylist friend Patty to teach me how to use it!
Saint James striped tee: I can’t shut up about this shirt. I wear the navy/white version once a week no matter the season. With shorts, jeans, under a sweater blazer or alone. It’s the most worn shirt in my closet. Now I’d like to add the white/black color way!
I’ll be monitoring these items and be sure to update with any sales going on this week. Happy shopping!
