Lawson’s First Christmas Stocking

First Christmas Stocking

A few weeks ago Jim’s little sister asked if an Elf on the Shelf would be visiting Lawson this year. It wasn’t until that moment that I realized how different our holidays will be in the coming years.

I’ll be honest, I’ve never been super into decorating for the holidays. It always seemed like a lot of work and red wasn’t my favorite color. That’s all beginning to change. Although Lawson won’t understand Christmas this year, I’m excited to make the holiday special for him.

I’m easing into this decorating stuff starting with our mantel. And of course what’s a holiday mantel without stockings! I often think of Shutterfly for holiday cards and invites and was excited to find they have lots of Christmas stockings too. The hardest decision was choosing which photo of Lawson to use! Since grey is one of my favorite colors, I couldn’t pass up the Very Merry Christmas stocking. It has the perfect pop of red to turn this girl into a fan.

It’s funny how everyone has their own traditions for stocking stuffers. My mom always includes a magazine or book, toothbrush (she’s a dental hygienist), burt’s bees lip balm and a pack or two of gum. Now Jim and I get to figure out what traditions we want to start for our family! What’s in your stocking year after year?

A big thank you to Shutterfly for sponsoring this post and helping to make Lawson’s first Christmas special.

your mantel looks gorgeous! I can’t believe how much more fun Christmas already is this year with the babe, even if she has no idea what’s going on. I tried to sew our stockings but they look….homemade :) thanks for sending the sewing girls to me, I have to check them out – I could use some tips! btw, I love your stocking hanger, you should see the “loud” ones we have – yikes!
