Weekend Roundup

Happy Friday! After what seems like the fastest pregnancy ever, we left the house as a family of 3 and now are a family of four!! The majority of this post was pre-written before her arrival. More details on our littlest luv’s arrival next week or follow along on Instagram for baby overload.

We celebrated my birthday last weekend in the best possible way at 38 weeks pregnant. Lots of relaxing and naps mixed with a visit to the mall to buy myself a gift (I got this!) and a return to Water Chestnut for more ramen (it is sooo good). Sunday night we had cupcakes and ice cream and I got some incredible gifts. More on those soon too. I felt very happy and grateful all weekend.

This week we’ve done a few last minute baby things – sterilize pacifiers, buy drapes for our room where she’ll sleep for the first few weeks/months, wash the floor. My mom and I also snuck in a manicure and pedicure. There’s no better way to prepare for baby than a fresh coat of nail polish!

I had a gift card from J. Crew for my birthday and picked up these shorts. They get great reviews (4+ stars, 200+ reviews). Fingers crossed they actually fit post-baby! J. Crew has so many cute new arrivals, but I didn’t want to spend too much on something I wasn’t sure would fit and/or work for breastfeeding. I have to remind myself to be gentle and that I won’t fit into my old sizes for months. I also tried on this jacket in ink from Madewell when we were out. I loved it and am patiently waiting for a sale before I pick it up. That and the fact it won’t be jacket weather here for months!

This peach cobbler with a chai crust sounds delish and I’ve always wanted to try making my own hummus. This roasted lemon and cauliflower hummus seems like a good place to start.

We got Lawson these blocks a few weeks ago. I’m not sure which one of us likes building with them more. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t try to protect my creations from his destruction at times!

Have a wonderful weekend. Get lots of sleep for us!
