Weekend Roundup: No. 190

Weekend

Happy Mother’s day to all you mamas! I’ll admit before having kids of my own, I had no idea how much mothers sacrifice for their children. So whether you’re a mama to little ones, big ones, or fur babies, I hope you are celebrated this weekend.

Last weekend was a good one. This weekend will be hard to top it but we’re going to try. Jim got on an earlier flight so Lawson and I both picked him up on Friday night. Saturday I worked out and then we went to watch my brother’s crossfit competition. Sunday I went for a run and then we relaxed outside in the sunshine. Oh and we all fit in a nap too.

This weekend we’re making a visit to my cousin’s husband’s brewery that opened a couple of weeks ago. I haven’t spent a Mother’s Day with my mom in years and I’m excited to give her a day off from all household activities.

I read Crazy Rich Asians this week. It’s the first in a trilogy series. It’s a pretty easy read even if I had trouble keeping track of all the characters and how they were related. Anyone else have that problem? I’m already looking forward to reading the other two books in the series on the beach this summer! Now I’m on to The Great Escape. My dad gave it 4.8 out of 5 stars so I’m excited to dive in.

HIGH POINT:

Yesterday I left Lawson and Sybil with my parents and spent the entire day by myself (with an exception for lunch and dinner). I went to a coffee shop I love (Spyhouse), had lunch with a friend I haven’t seen in years, shopped at the Mall of America and had a sushi dinner with my brother. Well we actually went to two sushi restaurants. #piggies

LOW POINT:

I feel a bit like a broken record, but Lawson and Sybil were both sick (again) this week. It’s the third or fourth time they’ve passed back and forth the same cold this winter and spring.

FIND OF THE WEEK:

I may have mentioned it before (I honestly can’t remember), but I tried on this striped shirt at Madewell yesterday. It’s light and breezy, perfect for warm summer days. I tried it on with jeans, but it would look just as cute with shorts.
