Weekend Roundup: No. 246

Simplified Planner

If you’re reading this on Friday morning, wish me luck. My surgery is scheduled for 7:30am. Fingers crossed I’ll be in the recovery room by early afternoon. I’ll take all the good vibes I can get if you want to send them out into the universe my way. And to my friends and family that reached out this week, THANK YOU! I so appreciate every message. Even when it’s routine, surgery is still scary.

This week I had a sweet breakfast with Lawson. I really, really love my one on one time with him. He’s a fun little buddy.

My parents arrived on Wednesday afternoon so my mom could learn the ropes of preschool drop-off on Thursday before she’s in charge until I’m cleared to drive again.

Speaking of recovery, I’m ready for it. I’ve got podcasts downloaded, books galore to read (Year of No Sugar, Once More We Saw Stars, Maid, Save Me the Plums, The Hating Game, City of Girls), a new season of Schitt’s Creek in the queue, and the entire series of The Office to finish.

On that note, Angela and Pam from The Office started a podcast where they are discussing every episode. Jim and I are almost finished rewatching each season. You bet I’ll be listening to that podcast.

Since my parents were around, we ventured to Cherry Creek Center yesterday afternoon. Cherry Creek has the best stores and most reminds me of Fashion Square in Scottsdale. It’s a hike to get there so I don’t go often. I walked into Aritzia and found several pieces I’d love to own. Tops on my list is this cardigan. I’d heard of Aritzia, but never been in a store. I’m plotting a return trip!

HIGH POINT:

Other than my parents arriving, we had a beautiful snowstorm on Wednesday night. The next morning we woke up to that heavy, thick snow on the trees with the sun shining. It promptly melted by the end of the day. That’s my kind of snowstorm.

LOW POINT:

Our dishwasher broke on Wednesday, which I didn’t discover until I’d packed it full and went to start it. Bummer!

FIND OF THE WEEK:

I picked up this tank during the Nordstrom anniversary sale to wear under an eyelet top. Little did I know I would wear it so much. I layer it under sweaters for extra warmth on cold, fall days. I need another one in black.

CURRENTLY READING:

I didn’t plan on reading How Could She, but then I saw it at the library, knew it was the October Bad on Paper book of the month and I couldn’t resist.
