It’s the best golf weekend of the year! We’ll be settled on the couch watching The Masters the next couple of days. ⛳️ Lawson’s excitement over the start yesterday was so cute. We each picked a golfer and whichever finishes the highest gets to go golfing with Jim. If he wins, he gets to go by himself which feels a little like an extra loss for me, ha!
In much less exciting news, last Sunday Lawson was exposed to a neighbor that later tested positive for COVID. We found out on Wednesday morning and cancelled our plans to go to Union Station to see the Christmas tree. Lawson feels fine and the exposure was limited (our neighbor was wearing a mask and they were outside), but we are still being extra careful, especially with case numbers rising so quickly.
I normally feel safe within our neighborhood bubble, but it’s a reminder that COVID cases are surging and we need to be as careful as we were six months ago. Wear your mask, friends! We typically don’t wear them outside, but are going to start whenever we’re around others. It’s just too hard to keep the kiddos six feet away. Lawson is a major hugger!
On that note, I want the winter set of these masks. They are great for smaller faces. Everyone is getting masks and hand sanitizer in their stockings this year.
Any other Desperate Housewives fans? I enjoyed this article about Eva Longoria’s career post Desperate Housewives. I’d like to be friends with her in real life.
A couple of weeks ago we watched The Trial of the Chicago 7 on Netflix. It follows seven anti-Vietnam War protesters charged with conspiracy and inciting riots at the 1968 Democratic National Convention. It is written and directed by Aaron Sorkin. So if you liked any of his other movies/series (The West Wing, The Social Network, The Newsroom), I think you’d like this one too.
I bought Lawson this hot chocolate mug to give him as part of their December 1st gifts. They are also getting a pair of pajamas, countdown calendar and book. In kindergarten, Lawson’s class has been talking about traditions and celebrations. I hope the gifts on December 1st are a tradition that continues as they get older.
HIGH POINT:
Last Saturday was pretty great. I felt immense relief when the networks called the election for Biden/Harris. I hope I never forget the look on Lawson and Sybil’s faces when I told them.
LOW POINT:
Obviously our neighbors having COVID and Lawson’s exposure is not great. Thankfully they are doing alright and Lawson doesn’t have any symptoms.
