Weekend Roundup: No. 300

Eldorado Canyon State Park

Another week started off with rain and even some snow on Monday/Tuesday. I’m really enjoying sitting in the sunshine today!

Although I love shopping for and styling clothes, I am at a loss when it comes to interior design. I can identify items I like, but have a hard time putting them together so a space looks cohesive. After seeing Proper Shoppe on Meghan’s apartment tour last week, I immediately reached out to schedule a one hour one-on-one consultation.

We focused on two areas – our entry and the bookcase we’ve had almost a year. It was incredibly helpful and I’ve barely spent any money! I’m already making a list of other spaces to go over with Proper Shoppe.

Sybil re-started speech therapy at a new place this week (same location as she did OT, but different than her last speech spot). It appears our girl is a joy to be around and hard worker. Sounds like Sybil (at least most of the time)!

As Jim and I are almost fully vaccinated, what to safely do with our kids has been on my mind a lot. I found this NPR article helpful. While I’d love to hop on a plane, I’m waiting to see how the expert guidance changes over the next couple of months. In the meantime, we have several camping reservations and a drive to Arizona to look forward to this summer!

Speaking of travel, I came across these 13 tips for raising travel obsessed kids and am going to let Lawson and Sybil pack their own bags for our next trip! Don’t worry, they just giving some guidelines (x number of shirts, etc.). Lawson and Sybil won’t be entirely on their own! (Reminds me of the time when we were growing up that my brother packed his own bag and forgot a winter coat….when we were going to Colorado in the winter. 😂)

I ordered a few chapter books to start reading with Lawson at night. It’s likely I’m more excited than he is! We started with Simon B. Rhymin, which we actually found at the library. It’s a little old for Lawson (recommended for 8-12 year olds), but he’s into it so far so I’m going to keep reading.

Assuming it doesn’t rain, this weekend we have our normal Saturday activities – soccer and golf. Maybe throwing in buying a new car?? Researching and buying a car is time consuming and stressful. Thankfully I only undertake the task every 10 years or so!

HIGH POINT:

Reading with Lawson at night and the countdown to the end of the school year!

LOW POINT:

I slept wrong one night and I’ve been waking up with a painfully sore neck ever since.
