Everything I bought in August for myself, Jim, the kiddos and home. Although I didn’t buy much clothing for myself this month, they were all more expensive, investment pieces. I placed a big Vuori order at the end of the month (mostly for Jim), but we haven’t received it yet so I’ll include any items we end up keeping next month. Most of this month’s purchases are clothing related for the kiddos and me. I definitely indulged in some birthday gifts to myself this month!

I repurchased this hand sanitizer in anticipation of school starting. I use the big bottle to refill our smaller, travel size containers.

I’m almost embarrassed to admit I bought these sneakers for both Lawson and Sybil. They are expensive (I redeemed credit card points to buy them with gift cards), but have been worth it so far. They easily slide on and off while still being tight enough that they can run around in them. It reduces stress in the morning because I don’t have to worry about tying their shoes

Mother The Dazzler Slim Straight Jeans
I bought these on a whim to replace a pair of straight leg jeans I’ve had for 5 years. They are stretchy, but not too stretchy, and feel oh so comfortable. (If you are an Anthropologie Insider, which is free to join, you get 20% an order during your birthday month.)

When we stained the deck in July, we moved our outdoor furniture around creating more of a seating area. I enjoy sitting outside to drink my tea or watch the kids play and needed a spot to hold drinks or a book.

I wear my other one so much, I ordered another when they relaunched a couple of styles. I now have two dresses – on hot summer days, I reach for them more than other styles in my closet. I size down from my normal. The back to school collection launches Sept. 6th.

Girls Fleeced Terry Sweatpants
Sybil is very particular about her clothing and lives for soft sweatpants. She tried these on in the store and gave them a thumbs up and now owns two pairs.

Lawson picked out this shirt during our back to school shopping. I love to indulge his love of all things space.

This sweater had been on my fall wish list. It’s really cute worn with the buttons at the back or as a cardigan.

After I sold my old camera, I splurged on this top for my birthday. It runs big and looks a little like a dress when it isn’t tucked in.

Now that I’m in my mid-40s I’m going to give knitting a try starting with this basic beanie kit. I briefly looked at the instructions and am slightly overwhelmed.

Instead of buying random hand soap, I switched to using Follain’s everything soap in our kitchen and bathrooms, which can be refilled. I repurchased during a recent sale.

It wasn’t until our last trips to the pool this summer that I finally got on board with bringing some toys with us. We’d seen another family playing with these and they said they’d had them for 10+ years!

Cozy Fleece Crewneck Sweatshirt
Lawson picked out this sweatshirt when we were shopping in store this weekend. I love the entire fleece line from J. Crew because it is so soft on the inside. There’s nothing worse than a scratchy inside material!

Chomps Original Turkey Chomplings
These have become an everyday school snack for Lawson. While we typically get the regular size, the mini sticks are great for lunch or snack boxes.
