I’m back with another roundup of everything I bought last month, including a pair of shoes for Jim, a couple of big home purchases for our dining room, clothing for the kids and, of course, a few things for me!
One/Third Rain Jacket: I am constantly searching Poshmark for One/Third jackets because I’d own them all if I could afford it. I came across jacket 09, their rain jacket, listed for $45 and quickly made an offer of $40, which was accepted. Woohoo! I always check the seller before I make an offer. In this case I noticed the seller was an influencer and figured she wore the jacket once or twice for photos. She had a ton of clothes available for sale so I thought she’d accept slightly below her asking price in an effort to make a sale. And I was right!
Miss Mouth’s Messy Eater Stain Remover: If you are a parent, you must get this stain remover. It is the only remover I’ve used that actually works. Sybil got some chocolate on my AYR Zip sweatshirt when we were on vacation. When we got home 5 days later, I sprayed on some of the stain remover, threw it in the wash, and it came out as good as new. I’ve since used it a few other times all to great success.
Hatch Okay to Wake Clock: We used this clock when we traveled earlier in October and I liked it enough to buy one for the kids at home. Sybil likes to have light when she goes to bed, Lawson doesn’t. This is a good compromise because the light doesn’t seem too bright that it will keep Lawson awake and I love that I can adjust the sound and lighting from my phone.
Everyday Dinners: After checking this out of the library, I bought my own copy. There are a ton of meatless dinner options, which is something I’d like to incorporate into our weekly meal plan.
Simplified Planner Weekly Edition: I’ve used a Simplified Planner for 5 years and am sticking with it. This year I switched from the Daily to Weekly version. Currently 30% off with code EARLYBIRD.
Tate +Tucker Joggers: I’m constantly looking for sweatpants that Sybil will wear. These were a winner. The rainbow tie dye is so cute. She’s granted them favorite sweatpant status!
LEGO Advent Calendar: Lawson and Sybil will be getting these advent calendars as part of their December 1st gift (Friends set for Sybil, City for Lawson). It will be a fun way to countdown to Christmas.
Charger Placemat: I’ve started to think about our holiday table decor. I usually do a black and white runner and thought these placemats would look good under the china we pull out for the holidays.
Nili Lotan x Target Cableknit Sweater: I’ve really liked the quarter zip styles this fall and grabbed this one when I saw it in store. It’s a cozy piece I plan to wear throughout fall and winter layering over a striped tissue turtleneck on really cold days.
Target Balloon Long-Sleeve Dress: For my 2nd Target clothing win of the month, it’s this dress in blue. I absolutely love it. I wore it for a pumpkin carving party with sandals on potentially our last 70+ degree day of the year. I’ll switch out the sandals for Chelsea boots the rest of this fall.
Ugg Classic Mini Boot: As the weather gets cooler, I’ve thought more about my footwear choices and how I’m going to stay warm on the multiple school runs each day. I have a pair of Uggs that are 15+ years old, which can only mean they are back in style. I opted for a pair of the mini’s in chestnut. There really isn’t anything that keeps my toes (sans socks!) quite as warm as a pair of Uggs.
Banana Republic Essential Trench Coat: I have wanted a trench coat for years. It’s such a classic staple that you can own forever. I tried this one on in a rare in store visit and couldn’t get it out of my head. When I saw it on sale + extra promos, I was able to get it for $65 (regularly $229). I really try not to get caught up in sales and only purchase items I can see myself wearing for years and this coat fit the bill.
Crate & Barrel Keenan Sideboard: After searching for a sideboard we both liked for years (no, seriously, years), we saw this one in store and bought it that night. So many we’d looked at only one of us liked or we both did but the delivery timeline was 20+ weeks out. I just hope we still like it when it arrives in a month!
West Elm Wall Mirror: Jim saw this mirror 2+ years ago and has been looking for a place in our house for it. I cannot bring myself to pay $150 in shipping costs for an accent piece and had resisted the purchase. But, soon after we ordered the sideboard, I saw this mirror was available for local pickup and it seemed like it was (finally) meant to be.
J. Crew Tissue Turtleneck: During a fall sale, I bought another of their tissue turtlenecks for winter, this time in the ivory color. I paid less than $18, regularly $36.50, so if there’s one on your wish list I recommend waiting for a good sale.
Stanley Adventure Quencher Travel Tumbler: Have you seen this tumbler on social media? The resurgence is a really interesting look at influencer marketing (you can read more about it here). I was intrigued enough to try it, mostly to keep in my car filled with water so I didn’t have to remember a water bottle during school and activity runs. It’s nice to have but so far I don’t think it lives up to the hype. At 40 oz, It’s huge and top heavy. It hasn’t tipped over in my cup holder but it isn’t 100% secure either. Maybe it would be better kept at your desk in an effort to drink more water?
Sheena Marshall Bexley Necklace: I’d been looking at a longer pendant necklace for months and finally decided to buy the Bexley from a local jewelry artist. I love it so much more than I even thought I would!
J. Crew Cozy Fleece Crewneck Sweatshirt: This fleece is so cozy and Lawson loves the pocket to warm up his hands. He now has it in camo (which looks like it sold out) and the lighter blue.
Tea Collection Stripe-Out Joggers: Lawson liked his pair of these sweatpants so much that I ordered another two pairs. He’s now set on pants for the rest of fall, winter and spring!
Personalized Hot Chocolate Mugs: These were part of Lawson and Sybil’s December 1st gift last year. I ordered them to give as gifts for nieces, nephews and friends.
Allbirds Runner-Up Mizzles: Jim did a massive closet clean-out this month, including shoes. Now we need to restock a few things. He’s had the wool runners from Allbird for years and decided to try this slightly different style for fall/winter.
