What I Bought in April

One Third Jacket 15

What I bought in April

Oof, looking back April was a big month of purchases. I’m pretty sure this happens every April with Jim and Lawson’s birthdays and the shift to spring/summer clothing.

Shinola watch: When Jim mentioned he’d like a new watch for his birthday, I jumped on the idea. He already had a Shinola watch with a leather band. For this one, we looked at options with a metal face and band.

Mother the Tripper jeans: I wanted to try a wider leg pair of jeans. Mother Denim is my current brand of choice. Their jeans hold up so well – they don’t stretch out after repeated wears and are just really comfortable. I love this addition to my denim collection.

J Crew Boys Half-Zip: For those early spring golf lessons, I bought Lawson this half-zip.

J Crew Boys Chino Shorts: Lawson needed all new shorts this year. I bought two of these to try, which he’s ended up wearing a lot. I just placed an order for another two pairs (currently 50% off).

Strawberry Huller: I’ve owned this kitchen gadget for two months and may have used it 1,000 times already. It’s in the running for my top 5 purchases of 2022.

Melissa & Doug Secret Decoder Activity Set: Lawson got this activity set as a birthday gift. It’s over 50% off on Amazon. He *loved* it so I bought a few for upcoming birthday parties. It’s a hit for 5-7 year olds.

One Third jacket 15: You know I love my One Third jackets (an ode to jacket 01 here). When I saw jacket 15, I knew I’d love it. The perfect shade of blue and so easy to throw on over tee shirts and dresses.

Anine Bing Ink tee (via Poshmark): I had wanted to try an Anine Bing graphic tee shirt. There are a lot on Poshmark for 30-50% off the retail price if you are patient. I bought one of the older styles, which still looks brand new. The shirt is a slightly heavier cotton than my other tee shirts. I’ve already worn it a ton.

Girls Linen Short: Sybil picked these on a visit to the J. Crew store. We lucked out that they were on super sale and that she loves them.

Brightland Olive Oil: I have a favorite olive oil and it’s Brightland. I realize that says something about myself, but that’s fine with me. There is nothing better than fresh tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella and Brightland olive oil. I’ll have it every day for lunch or a snack come summer.

J Crew Mid-Rise Jeans: Tried these on in store and fell in love. They are perfectly stretchy and the Demi crop is fun for summer.

J Crew seaside shorts: Previously I had only owned one pair of denim shorts. I wanted another option for summer and settled on these linen shorts. Last weekend I wore them both days. Definitely recommend.

Rael Beauty Invisible Spot Cover: These truly do work. Just a tiny little patch to cover a pimple. I won’t travel without them.

Balanced bound daily notepad: I’ve never met a notepad I didn’t like. This version was enticing because it has sections for work/self/others/home.

Hanna Andersson pajamas: One tradition in our house is to put together a little gift package for Lawson and Sybil on the first day of summer. I usually include a new pajama short set. For this year, I ordered the

Kitchen organization turntable: We had one of these in our refrigerator for condiments. It worked so well I wanted another for one of the shelves.

LED Night Light: I keep one of these in my travel tech bag for hotel rooms. I must have left the last one somewhere so ordered a new set for travel. I like that it isn’t too bright, but still enough for the kids when we’re all sharing a room. We also have one in our upstairs hallway at home.

Foot Repair foot cream: I saw a bunch of people rave about this foot lotion. As the weather warms up, I needed to give my feet some love. It lives up to the hype!
